Definitely not the best Slug & Lettuce I’ve been to. The cocktails were extremely watered down, which was disappointing given their price. We ordered through the app, and while our drinks were made promptly, they were left sitting on the bar for at least 15 minutes with no one bringing them over. With the excessive amount of ice, they were becoming even more diluted just sat there for that amount of time.
After waiting, we approached the bar to ask if we could take them ourselves, only to be met with a rude and condescending response from a male manager. Instead of acknowledging the delay, he dismissed us and insisted he’d bring them over. The attitude was completely unnecessary, especially since the mistake was on their end. Very strange from him.
On top of that, the place wasn’t very clean, which added to the overall disappointing experience. I’d recommend visiting a different Slug & Lettuce if you’re looking for better service and quality drinks.

Organised a bottomless brunch and was blown away by the value for money and the service we received. Our waitress Carly was brilliant, checking in every 5 mins or so, we were never waiting for a drink, she was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, chilli jam on the chicken burger was delicious. will definately be back.

Went for bottomless brunch Friday 21\2\25 at 12.30, booked for Mandy & Heather. Couldn't fault guy who looked after us (sadly left card with his name on behind) he was so helpful, recommending cocktails and kept checking to make sure we had drinks. The food, on the other hand, wasnt good, we both ordered chicken strips with avocados and fries but they were so dry (was either left on hot plate for too long or microwaved too ling) it's a shame as the service for drinks was excellent. Wouldn't be in a hurry to go back

I had a really disappointing experience at Slug & Lettuce Newcastle Quayside. My girlfriend and I had booked a table for food, but from the moment we arrived, things went downhill. The music was so loud that the waiter couldn’t even hear what I was saying, and I ended up having to take his iPad and find our booking myself.
We ordered the three small plates for £16 deal at the bar, but when the food finally arrived, only two of the three dishes were brought out. We asked about the missing plate, only to be told that the bar staff hadn’t heard my girlfriend’s order properly—even though she had it all written down on her phone and showed them. This meant we had effectively paid for three plates but only received two, losing out on the savings from the deal.
I raised the issue with a waiter, who said she would speak to a manager, but the manager never showed up. We ate what food we had and waited over 40 minutes, only to realise that nothing had been done about our complaint. In the end, I had to go with the waiter to track down someone in charge. Thankfully, we finally spoke to Jack at the bar, who was incredibly apologetic and helpful—he was the only positive part of the experience.
As for the food, the halloumi fries were nice, but the crispy halloumi bao buns were awful—just pure grease. Wish I could comment on the third plate but it never showed. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because of Jack and the drinks which were really good. Otherwise, the service was chaotic, the music was far too loud, and the whole experience was frustrating. I won’t be in a hurry to return.

Oh wow - Monday night, just entered this amazing pub in the centre of Newcastle down on the Quayside. It is bang on 10 pm ( my other half says it’s 9.59pm) but I want to give the bar staff the benefit of the doubt and she says we have just closed the Bar!!
Website says open till 11 pm
Thankfully Wetherspoons around the corner and on explaining to them there, what just happened they said don’t worry we are open to 1am. That would be too much as just here for a quick drink but 10pm close in any major City is unique - good luck Slug and Lettuce. This bar ( heartbreakingly) is clearly not lasting too long.
Just seen Slug and Lettuce investors, Stonegate - have just injected £250 million in to the business. Personally, I would just inject normal opening hours and build up trust by stating your proper hours on your website. You would do far better investing in a true product:
Says happy hour until 11pm. I’m unhappy and it’s only 10………😂 I will have to find happiness elsewhere 🤪
